We started research into a new herd during 2020. It wasn't the easiest year to visit breeders, but we knew we wanted a native breed, which could finish on grass, were easy to handle, and could produce tasty beef; which we would want to eat.

We knew we had found the perfect breed, when we visited a herd of Red Ruby Devons in the South of England. The perfect combination of quiet, placid grazers, and the ideal metabolism for converting grass into premium quality beef. Renowned for it's depth of flavour, and loved by chefs, the Red Ruby Devon was our choice.

Our herd spend the summer grazing lush Brecon grass in small groups, and the winter in our spacious airy sheds.

Having a small herd allows us the time to check all anmials daily, maintaining the highest standards of welfare.

We now have 22 cattle in total, including purchasing a bull in 2022.

Three in-calf Heifers. Due Feb 2021. Ebbesbourne Herd, in-calf to a polled Tillbrook
Ebbesbourne Maisy and Pentwyn... to be named! February 2021

Welcome to the first new arrival of 2021! The first calf, and the first Pentywn Red Ruby Devon. A lovely heifer calf, who we have named Pentwyn Anwen. We will keep Anwen to grow the herd, and she is really thriving on the Brecon grass this year.
